How Can a Cardholder Sign a Physical Receipt on a POS Terminal?

Updated over 8 months ago

Cardholders can sign for transactions in two main ways, depending on the configuration of your POS terminal

Signing on the POS Terminal Screen

Some Paybyrd POS terminals allow cardholders to sign directly on the terminal’s screen. After the card is inserted and the transaction is confirmed, the cardholder can use a digital pen or their finger on the touch screen to provide their signature.

In certain cases, like refunds, a signature may also be required for approval.

Signing a Printed Receipt

In other setups, a physical receipt is printed, and the cardholder signs it as proof of the transaction.

💡 Tips

Enabling Signature Capture on Paybyrd POS

By default, the signature feature is not activated since many cards do not require a signature for payment authorization. To enable this feature, follow these steps:

  • Open the Paybyrd Hospitality App.

  • Navigate to Settings.

  • Select Feature Management.

  • In the Transaction section, activate the Cardholder Signature function.

Once enabled, customers will be prompted to sign either on the screen or on a printed receipt, depending on the terminal setup. This feature is available only for specific card types.
